The Blackwood LoT is a new addition to the growing number of Library’s of Things in Australia, currently about 40 in total. It will be a community driven operation, run by volunteers for the community. It is a low cost option for people to gain access to goods that they either cannot afford, rarely use, don’t have the storage space or simply want to try before they buy. Most of the stock is donated by the public and can range from a bread maker to a kite or a telescope. No petrol powered tools are stocked as we don’t have the skill set to maintain these – plus a local hire company is very supportive of us. We will carry battery powered power tools for people to undertake home repairs or make something.
