O is for Op Shops
The delight of the “op shop find” feeds the hunter gatherer instinct. Devoting some hours to browsing Banyule’s op shops to renew your wardrobe, find your child’s next Book Week costume, and fill gaps in your kitchen cupboards and book shelves, pays back with a tenth of the footprint of buying anything new. Most of our suburbs have at least one op shop; some are blessed with more. Check out yours today – look for the dark blue shopping bag symbol on the map on our homepage!
Notable local op shops:
Brotherhood of Saint Laurence Watsonia stocks small appliances, as they have a volunteer qualified to ‘test and tag’ electricals
Watsonia Salvos and Savers Greensborough stock a significant amount of furniture, whereas most don’t have enough space.
