About Us
Transition Town Vincent (TTV) is a not-for-profit, non-political community group aligned with the world-wide Transition Town movement, which assists communities to transition to a more sustainable and resilient way of life. Our vision is “Strengthening our local community connections and empowering people to tread lightly on the earth.”
Membership of TTV is made up of a diverse group of community members who want to keep our community strong and connected to achieve our broad sustainability goals. While we are based in the inner city municipality of the City of Vincent, Western Australia we have many members from adjacent areas.
We have volunteers with diverse backgrounds who are involved in many community building and education programs, such as:
- Monthly (sustainability focused) Movie Nights,
- Events such as seminars, workshops, and walking tours
- The Black Cockatoo Forest,
- Community Food Forest,
- My Healthy Soils Project
- Tools n Things Library,
- The Soil Hub,
Our members have also run a range of other events such walking tours, Grow and Sow events, SOUP nights, community dinners and bicycling events. Check out some of our projects here and group resources here.
Connect + Volunteer
Connect with TTV to improve your health and sustainability and that of your local community. Volunteers with environmental groups report a more positive connection to nature where they live, improved physical and mental wellbeing and more positive social connections to their local community.
TTV welcomes people who share our vision and can contribute in any manner whether to participate in activities, volunteer, donate or initiate and lead projects. Becoming a member is free and you get to join a bunch of wonderful people making a difference in small and big ways. Become a member of TTV here.
