About Us

Darebin Hard Rubbish Heroes (DHRH) is a community group supporting reuse, repair, recycling and repurposing/upcycling of preloved items through education and events. We promote and support extending the life of preloved items and rethinking the need to buy new in support of a circular economy – keeping preloved items in use and out of landfill. DHRH is volunteer run, receives no ongoing funding and does not operate for profit.

DHRH is predominantly a Facebook group and page enabling and promoting freecycling – the free exchange of preloved items. The FB group helps members find homes for items they no longer need, and request items they do need.

Members of the group run markets and workshops to help spread these messages, bring the community together and raise funds for local charities and for our ongoing work.
