A Local Government Area focused Climate Change Game
The Adaptation Game (TAG) is a full board game kit – locality maps , game play rules, player tokens, temperature change and impacts scenario cards, response and adaptation cards.
The game incorporates the local government area ( council or city ) maps, data, planning, budgets & climate response projects and initiatives – the players get to experience predicted future scenarios, and get to choose their reactions. Will they need to spend more money, can they cooperate with neighbours to abate the problems, will their families be badly affected, and how might the local government initiatives help them.

The TAG team works with Councils and Shires to make a game kit tailored to the local government area – the game is suitable for ages 16-90 and works well as part of the council’s sustainability programs and community centre and library events and sessions.
2026 Update:
According to the TAG website https://www.tagclimatedrill.org/home “TAG is working with over 37 councils, universities and community groups in Australia, NZ and Canada.
In Queensland, Sunshine Coast Council and Noosa Shire Council now have a localized version of The Adaptation Game (TAG) for people to access and play with their communities and organisations – or even with their neighbours.
