Transition Australia has a workbook to guide you as you start making big changes – by starting in your street.
The Transition Streets workbook is designed to be informative, inspiring, constructive and fun.
We hope you will discover new ways of doing things together that make life in your home and street more energy and water efficient and less resource-dependent.
You should also become more self-reliant with food, generally less wasteful and healthier.
However, you may find some of the ideas challenging.
You are not alone. We can help each other.
The program is designed to build stronger connections with your neighbours.
What is in the workbook?
The workbook is based on seven chapters and will be the basis for group discussions to help you think about what changes you can make personally, as a household and as a street or neighbourhood.
The workbook looks at the key areas of:
- Water
- Energy
- Food
- Transport
- Waste and consumption
There are action tables in the book to help you plan what actions you might like to take.
The workbook also has various challenges, focusing on each of the main topics.
Transition Streets is an opportunity to see how creative you can get in your street or neighbourhood to make it more vibrant, more sustainable, safer and friendlier.
