Cultivating a relocalised and resilient Darebin which proves liveable for current and future generations.
Transition Darebin is part of the worldwide Transition Network which sees the need to adapt to diminishing resources and a rapidly changing global climate.
We aim to foster a sustainable and resilient community by harnessing the diverse skills of our members to undertake projects around food, sharing resources and re-skilling.
To achieve this, we support small working groups that pursue specific initiatives (based around a local area or activity) – initiatives to date include: Fruit Squad, Food Swaps, Convivial Kitchen and Garden, Transition in the Pub, Boomerang Bags groups and a Repair Café.
We also network with other community groups, and partner with different organisations to develop projects and co-host events.
We welcome members who bring fresh thinking, energy and practical ideas.
