Walking Clean Up Tour of Greensborough

Sustainable Greensborough decided to make our first free event for 2019 one that would help the environment and also help us collect some data about what waste is ending up around our beautiful walking trails.
We will start our clean up walking tour at Poulter Avenue Reserve, which is behind Greensborough Station on Poulter Avenue. We will then walk along the Plenty River Trail, passing through Greensborough Park, Partingtons Flat, past the skate park and finishing up at Kalparrin Gardens.
As we are walking, we intend to pick up rubbish and seperate it at the end into categories: soft plastics, hard plastics, glass, paper, and rubbish. We will then weigh the total amount of each category at the end and hope to publish this to our website and facebook page. The recyclables and rubbish will be left at Kalparrin Gardens car park for Council Pick Up.
When we are done, the walk back to the starting point only takes approximately 20 minutes. We encourage everyone to arrive by sustainable transport (walk/bike/train/bus). We chose Poulter Reserve as the starting point due to it being easily accessible by bus and train.
