Regen Agriculture: Retrofitting Permaculture

Saturday 20th of April 2024 1:00 pm (AWST)

In this 2.5 hour FREE webinar* world leaders ( bios at ) in permaculture (PC), regen agriculture, regrarianism, agro-forestry, city farm coops, sustainable living share and discuss our current ecological metacrisis, eco-collapse, degrowth and ways to adapt, thrive and create the urgently needed eco-civilizations of the Gaianthropocene. The webinar concludes with a 45-minute panel discussion.

Since Bill Mollison & David Holmgren co-created permaculture in the mid-70s innovation in permaculture has continuued. In 2018 David published a 592 page manual Retrosuburbia: The Downshifter’s Guide to a Resilient Future. In 2020 Darren Doherty published The Regrarians Handbook Update which was illustrated & edited by Andrew Jeeves who’d also worked on Permaculture: A Designers’ Manual (1988) including its outstanding cover. Regrarians draw upon permaculture and take it to a new level. Similarly permaculture social entrepreneur Simon Fjell has led innovations adapted to the needs of jungle dwellers, indigenous and poor people in developing countries.

We’ll discover what’s to be learnt from past innovations and what’s needed to adapt to immediate and future permaculture eco-regenerative agriculture challenges. When is it appropriate to retrofit permaculture and if so how? Signs of ecological and social collapse are appearing. Some scientists warn it could or will worsen. How should we respond?
