Insulative Cooking

-- THIS EVENT HAS ALREADY OCCURED --

Saturday 22nd of June 2019 1:00 pm

Most would consider insulating our houses to be a good idea, even an imperative in these times when reducing our energy bills and carbon footprint is on our minds. Have you thought, however, of using insulation to cook your food? Insulative cooking can reduce your cooking energy use by as much as 80%. Once this low energy, slow cooking method is understood, people often discover other unexpected benefits – of convenience and wonderful flavours. Patterns will also be available to trace for making your own insulative cooker
Times: 1 pm see Nina start a meal, 3 pm – 4.30 pm the main workshop, the cooked meal, and the opportunity to trace your own pattern. Enjoy the garden or lend a hand in between times! Free to members, $15 for non members.
