Conversations for a Better Tomorrow
Saturday 30th of August 2025 4:00 pm
Transition Darebin would like to invite all those northside Melbourne folk to ‘Conversations for a Better Tomorrow”. These workshops are conversation based sessions that explore our fundamental attitudes about the future and our part in it. We will delve into questions about whether we are working towards a desirable future or fighting against a disastrous one, and whether that changes our energy, open-ness and resilience. In each session we will be joined by special guests to seed the conversations and broaden our view.
Hope and a Positive Vision
5th July: Joined by Professor John Wiseman, author of Hope and Courage in the Climate Crisis, this workshop will explore the concept of hope and a positive vision and whether it can help us make the shifts we need to have a resilient, regenerative and rewarding future.
Youth and the Future
2nd August: For this workshop we will be tapping into the amazing wealth of knowledge brought by Professor Ann Sanson who will bring her years of working with the social and emotional development of children, adolescents and young adults, a speaker from Parents for Climate Action along with youth environment leaders to explore a youth voice and how we can support it to grow.
Resilience
30th August: An expert panel will assemble to explore how we can remain personally resilient but also how community resilience that is strong in the good times, and the bad is crucial to weather the challenge that are approaching in a climate changed world.
