Conversation Cafe Online: Transition Streets and Local Actions

Sunday 17th of August 2025 5:00 pm (AEST)

It’s not a future scenario, it’s here! Australia and the world are feeling the impact of climate change. Whether it is floods, bushfires, crop failures, heatwaves, droughts or any of the other myriad natural disasters, these are going to become more frequent and challenge our ability to bounce back to ‘normal’.

How can we as people stay resilient, grounded and functional, but also  strengthen community to build collective resilience in our neighbourhoods and cities. Can we in effect ‘bounce forward’ so challenge is managed and also brings us together rather than drive us apart.

That’s the focus for this months online conversation cafe, where we dig in to the concept of Transformational Resilience through a lens of Transition and explore how this could happen and what steps it would take to make it reality.

How can people stay resilient, grounded and functional, while strengthening collective resilience? Can we in effect, ‘bounce forward’ so challenge is managed and brings us together rather than drive us apart
