Refund Policy for Payments
As a not-for-profit community organisation, Transition Australia (also known as Transition Towns Australia Inc) depends on grants, donations and annual memberships to help deliver support and resources to local transition towns and like-minded sustainability groups across Australia. Your support helps fund the events, projects and initiatives we undertake as we work towards transitioning to a more socially just and ecologically regenerative future.
Please note: Transition Towns Australia Inc is a registered charity but does not have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. Accordingly donations are gratefully received but are not tax deductible.
Donations
Donations will only be refunded if genuinely made in error. Please make sure the amount you enter is the amount you wish to give.
In the event of an incorrect amount being entered, or if the donation is made accidentally or there is an extremely unusual circumstance, please email the Secretary of Transition Australia via info@transitionaustralia.net.
Events
If we (Transition Australia) cancel an event, we will refund any ticket price paid.
In other cases, such as where you change your mind about attending, we do not ordinarily refund the ticket price. If you wish to request a refund, please contact us at least 2 days in advance of the event (so, for example, we can change any catering or other costs we may incur) by emailing info@transitionaustralia.net. Transition Australia retains the discretion to allow for full or partial refunds in these situations (e.g. to cover administrative or other costs already incurred by Transition Australia).
You can alternatively consider transferring your ticket to another person, asking for a credit to attend a future event, or allowing your payment to be retained by Transition Australia as a donation.
Membership payments
Membership subscriptions, once paid, are not refunded unless the payment was genuinely made in error.
Membership subscriptions are for a 1-year period, starting from the date payment is received. Membership subscriptions are not automatically renewed; an automatic reminder for renewal is sent out before the end of the 1-year subscription period.
Under Transition Australia’s Rules, membership subscriptions are not refunded when a member resigns or otherwise ceases to be a member.Questions about refunds or any other feedback should be directed to the Secretary of Transition Australia via email info@transitionaustralia.net
