Buy Local Food

Why Buy Local Food?

The current Global Food system

  • Produces 50% of the world’s CO2 emissions
  • Degrades our Soils
  • Requires the use of chemicals, additives and preservatives, causing ill health
  • Uses excessive packaging
  • Allows big companies to make more profit due to crazy tax laws and the farmer to receive only 10% of what we pay in the shops

Local food systems

  • Restore s0ils, ecosystems and biodiversity
  • Produce more food per acre
  • Farmers retain approx. 80% of retail price
  • Treat animals more humanely
  • Provide sustainable, healthy food. No aditives
  • Minimises the need for packaging
  • Provide food security, meaningful work and connection
  • Reduce CO2 emissions drastically

Local Regenerative Food Systems

  • Makes improving the health of the ecosystem the primary focus.
  • Requires low inputs transitioning away from chemicals and artificial fertilizers
  • Animals are treated more humanely and have a higher quality of life and better health
  • Provides sustainable, healthy food full of nutrients. No additives or chemicals
