About Us

Our interests include backyard and community gardening, sharing practical skills, reducing waste, encouraging public and active transport, promoting a more localised economy, and celebrating existing and new friendships!

Transition Maribyrnong is the initiator of the Melbourne Repair Cafe (Inner West), a free monthly community event where volunteer fixers share the skill and art of repair with their neighbours who bring their broken and torn items in for fixing. Initially one of five repair cafes (registered with the International Repair Foundation), it has supported other transition towns and communities to set up their own initiative.
