Vision, Key Themes and Activities ( developed by our community in 2019

         

At our first Open Space Gathering,  October 2019,  we identified the following Vision, Key Themes and Activities.  See Newsletters, and online links to videos and resources under the Resources tab to see how we are going with these projects and what new initiatives are underway

Vision – How we would like to imagine Bridgetown in 2030 Building connected community, Multi age activities, Mentoring, Renewable energy, Electric cars, Recycling, Water tanks,  Population Plan with Economic Stability,  Visual and obvious signs asserting the town’s values

Key Themes 

Food production, Communal Gardening, Local Food, Engaging with the non-connected, Community Connection and Support, Encouraging Shire co-operation and support, Renewable Energy, reducing Carbon and Waste

Activities

Sharing community resources, Social engineering; Involve youth, Keep activities positive and inspiring, Celebrating with local picnics, Encouraging waste as a resource, Request Community groups implement elements of TT principles, Using recycled materials in art works, with children, Piggy backing on existing events to implement environmental awareness, Using water filtration systems – not plastic bottles – for all events in town, Green waste to compost

Lobby Council/Shire, Form sub-groups Note: sub-groups currently active include A Recycling Networking Group and  Bridgetown Energy Transition (BET) , Power (local energy systems/off-grid), Environment/biodiversity/water/forests, Waste Management/Waste reduction, Education of the community, Support for ageing population, Support for young adults, Local Food, Verge Gardens
