Welcome to Transition Bridgetown

Bridgetown is a small town in South Western Australia, a tourist destination known for the beautiful Blackwood River and surrounding countryside, the Bridgetown Blues Festival, the Garden Festival, River Market, excellent restaurants and wineries, vibrant arts culture, healthcare practitioners and community spirit.

The land on which Bridgetown stands today, was known as Geegelup to the Noongar people of Western Australia. We acknowledge these traditional custodians of the land, their elders of the past and of the present.

Bridgetown has a wide array of groups and individuals working towards a more sustainable, inclusive and empowering life for all. Our aim is to connect and support these local groups, initiatives, schools, businesses and individuals, to further promote a more co-operative and resilient community in Bridgetown. We aim to build a low-carbon, healthy and happy future for our town, by working together, supporting each other and raising more awareness of sustainable and regenerative practices.
